What is it?

NOTE: This is a DEV tool and does not do anything on it's own without integration into other scripts. Several of Big Daddy scripts use the Gizmo for object and prop placement so it will be required for those scripts. And it CAN be integrated with other scripts by developers but again, it does nothing on its own.

Big Daddy Gizmo provides visual object placement for supported Big Daddy resources in FiveM. Move an object along three axes, rotate it into alignment, and switch between world and local orientation while viewing the placement in game.

A mouse-driven transform gizmo and on-screen control legend guide the editing process, with options to place the object on the ground, save the edit, or cancel. The calling resource opens the editor and handles the result, allowing products such as Storage, Camping, Car Wash, and Fireworks to provide a consistent placement workflow.

Developed by Whitigol Software and Big Daddy Scripts, Gizmo is supplied as a shared component for supported products.

Key Features

  • Visual object movement: Drag axis and plane handles to adjust an object's position in game.
  • Three-axis rotation: Use rotation handles to align the object with its surroundings.
  • World and local orientation: Switch between global axes and axes aligned with the edited object.
  • Live placement preview: Position and rotation updates are sent from the interface to the game while editing.
  • Place on ground: Requests ground placement through the runtime, with the interface updated to reflect the resulting transform.
  • Cursor/camera switching: A dedicated control switches interaction between the placement interface and camera handling.
  • Save and cancel actions: Returns an editing outcome for the calling resource to process.
  • On-screen control legend: Displays the active controls for saving, cancelling, cursor mode, translation, rotation, orientation, and ground placement.
  • Camera-aligned overlay: The transform interface follows camera updates supplied by the runtime.
  • Shared placement integration: Existing Big Daddy products call the startGizmo client export with an entity handle and await the result.
  • Position and rotation output: Integrations receive three-component position and rotation data for their placement workflow.

Requirements

No framework, inventory, targeting, database, or OneSync dependency for Gizmo itself. A calling product may require any of those separately; follow that product's requirements.

NOTE: SOME OF THESE SCRIPTS ARE STAND-ALONE FIVEM SCRIPTS AND SOME SUPPORT FRAMEWORKS. Please see the compatability chart at wiki.bigdaddyscripts.com for information on compatibility with frameworks and other scripts.
